Today is the big 'Day Without Immigrants' protest. This offends me deeply. My father is an immigrant who immigrated LEGALLY, as were my maternal grandparents. My father became a naturalized citizen in 1976, and even though I was barely a teen, I remember it well. It was a moving day.

But now, these people that support the illegal immigration of MILLIONS of people to this country have to be repremanded and derided for their foolish ideas. For those of you who don't understand this issue, allow me to explain;

Immigrants aren't bad - only the ILLEGAL ones are bad.

Americans can and will, and even do, work at those jobs that we are told Americans "won't do".

We understand that the United States was built on the sweat of immigrants - almost all of us here are directly related to immigrants. There's one key difference though, which is that those immigrants that predominantly came from Europe, came here LEGALLY.

To give amnesty to the millions of illegal immigrants is to insult and degrade the millions of legal immigrants who followed the rules throughout the generations. It's a slap in the face to any legal immigrant.

Don't fall for this protest. There are opportunities here for anyone, provided you follow the rules. If you come here illegally, you deserve nothing more than being treated as the criminal you have made yourself to be.

If people want to protest, what they should be protesting is the deplorable conditions in Mexico and the inept leadership of Vicente Fox. Stop demanding priviledge not earned from the United States. If you don't like how you are being treated here, go back to Mexico. Illegal aliens deserve NOTHING!!
